A Beginning

An Online Workshop And Practice Series With Peter Yaholkovsky

Before the polarization. Before the misinterpretation. Before we raise our voices or withdraw in silence—there’s a moment. A threshold. A choice.

This workshop is for those who recognize that moment and want to meet it differently.

In a time when disagreement too often turns to division, many of us long for another way—especially when it matters most. Whether in our families, our teams, or our communities, we face moments of contention that call for something other than argument or acquiescence.

What if controversy doesn’t have to mean conflict?
What if, instead of one side winning or the other side giving up, disagreement could become an invitation—a doorway into a rich space where previously unthought possibilities can emerge?

This is not a training in debate or new communication skills.
It’s an invitation to practice a new orientation:

  • To listening for what matters beneath the words

  • To nurturing resonance and sense-making as it arises in conversation

  • To navigating beyond collapse or combat to engagement toward a mutually beneficial future

  • To transforming power differentials from risk/vulnerability to alignment and support

  • To cultivating the skills and sensibilities for building futures together

  • To the ineffable perplexing uncertainty and mysteriousness of life in conversation with others

Listening for Candor – A Beginning offers a new understanding of the significance and opportunity in encountering a different perspective. When we learn to listen past surface positions and pay attention to what truly matters, disagreement becomes fertile ground for trust, connection, and relationship to take root—allowing new futures to emerge.

This learning experience invites you into a new space of conversational practice. Led by author and facilitator Peter Yaholkovsky, the workshop draws from his book Listening for Candor, a guide to speaking honestly without losing connection. Whether you’re a leader, a consultant, a parent, or simply someone committed to living and working with integrity, this experience is designed to shift how you listen, speak, and relate—especially in the face of conflict.

The Online Workshop provides the foundational framework. The Learning Community supports integration—where new practices meet real-life situations. Participation in the learning community requires participation in the foundational workshop.

Limited to 30 participants.
